Fright Fest

All Dressed Up
By: Paige Curtis, 12

On October 29th clubs at Community R-VI hosted a second annual Fright Fest. Student Council had a fortune teller, Art Club had a face painting area, and STRIVE had cheese sticks, juice, and a bowling game. While this was going on, FBLA had a pumpkin shoot-out trying to shoot the water from a water gun to put out a candle in a pumpkin and they also had bobbing for pumpkins (using your hands). FTA had a bean bag toss and FCCLA had a candy walk and a bean bag toss. There were also two haunted houses going on in the school--band had a haunted house in the school basement and FFA had a haunted maze in the Ag shop. There were many children who came dressed up this year. Sandy Gastler, sponsor of Student Council, said, “This year was bigger and better than ever.” She said that compared to last year, “It was awesome; there were a lot of little kids that had a great time and most of the adults did also.” This was a night for the children to get out and have some fun before Halloween. It also helped the clubs interact with the community. They plan to have another Fright Fest next year, so if you missed it this year you better hope to catch it next year!
