The Community R-VI/Van-Far co-op football program’s overall record was 3-6 with wins over MMA, Wright City, and Winfield. They put a beating on MMA 46-6 for their first win of the season. Their next win would come two games later at Homecoming against Wright City 28-14. Logan Boyd (Van-Far) rushed for 120 yards on 17 carries and one touchdown. He caught for 126 yards on three catches and two touchdowns. Ethan Gooch (Van-Far) rushed for 117 yards on 16 carries and one touchdown. As a team, they had 377 yards of total offense. This was the first time Van-Far has won Homecoming in over ten years.

The Van-Far/Community R-VI football team went on a four-game losing streak, but then snapped it with a win against Winfield on Senior Night 20-16. Gooch passed for 120 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions; he also had 2 receptions for 49 yards and one touchdown and rushed for 82 yards. The win against Winfield earned them the fourth seed in the Class 2, District 5 tournament. They faced the number five seed, Bowling Green, who had beat Van-Far earlier in the season 38-15. The Van-Far/Community R-6 football program lost to the Bowling Green Bobcats 42-18. Van-Far scored first off a 55-yard run by Gooch, but after that it was all Bowling Green.

When Tyler Mays (12) was asked how he liked the co-op team, he responded saying he’s glad he did it and thought that the players from Community had a huge part because they were able to win three games.

For the season, Mays lead the Trojans football players with 14 tackles and 39 assisted tackles. Anthony Fairchild (9) had 3 solo tackles and 9 assisted tackles. Jamie Householder (9) had 5 assisted tackles and Ethan Knipfel (11) had 1 solo tackle and 7 assisted tackles.
