Mrs. Vicki Briggs

Mrs. Briggs has been teaching at Community R-VI for 28 years, although she had never really planned to be a teacher.  Before becoming a teacher she worked as an analytical chemist.  One day she responded to an ad for a chemistry teacher at R-VI and was offered the job.

She grew up in Howard County, Missouri on a farm.  At William Jewell she completed her bachelor's degree in chemistry and did graduate studies at the University of Missouri.

Mrs. Briggs is an avid golfer and has competed in many tournaments as an amateur, including the National Senior Games where she finished 6th.  When R-VI finally offered golf, she was thrilled.  She was even happier when she was employed as the coach.

Her grandchildren are very dear to her.  She loves spending time with them.  She has two granddaughters, Cassidy who is six and Maddie who is four. This past summer, one of her favorite days was going swimming with them.  Her only regret is that she lives so far from them.

She really enjoys teaching and thinks Community R-VI is a wonderful place to work. Sometimes she is amazed at how her life has turned out.  She comes to school everyday and enjoys her students, even after all this time.
